چکیده

In this paper we study the simulation of marginally stable systems using the methods of Quantized State Systems of first order (QSS) and second order (QSS2). We show that the simulation global error can be bounded by a magnitude which grows linearly with the time. Consequently, the direct use of QSS and QSS2 in these systems yields unstable simulation results. Therefore, we propose a modification to the methods which attempts to eliminate the mean value of the perturbations introduced by the quantization in order to avoid the unstability. All this results are illustrated with the simulation of two examples.

A CORBA-Based Distributed Simulation Methodology for Hierarchical DEVS Models

Discrete-event simulation is frequently used to analyze and predict the performance of systems. Simulation of large, complex systems remains a major stumbling block, however, due to the prohibitive computation costs. Distributed simulation offers one approach that can significantly reduce these computation costs. Since distributed simulation deals with large and complex systems, the following i...

The DEVS Model Interchange Format OpenDEVS . A Proposal

This report is a result of a project carried out for AEG AAT. We propose an open and extensible model interchange format for modeling, simulation, analysis and design systems that are based on the DEVS (discrete event system specification) formalism. Such DEVS-based tools can be applied in various stages of the engineering process for complex technical discrete event and combined discrete/contin...

DEVS Framework for Modelling, Simulation, Analysis, and Design of Hybrid Systems

We make the case that Discrete Event System Speci cation (DEVS) is a universal formalism for discrete event dynamical systems (DEDS). DEVS o ers an expressive framework for modelling, design, analysis and simulation of autonomous and hybrid systems. We review some known features of DEVS and its extensions. We then focus on the use of DEVS to formulate and synthesize supervisory level controllers.

Quantised State System Simulation in Dymola/Modelica Using the DEVS Formalism

Continuous-time systems can be converted to discreteevent descriptions using the Quantised State Systems (QSS) formalism. Hence it is possible to simulate continuous-time systems using a discrete-event simulation tool, such as a simulation engine based on the DEVS formalism. A new Dymola library, ModelicaDEVS, was developed that implements the DEVS formalism. DEVS has been shown to be efficient...

An integrated framework for automated simulation of SysML models using DEVS

System models are constructed to design, study, and understand complex systems. According to the systems modeling language (SysML) that is a standard for model-based system engineering, all engineering activities should be performed using a common model. To validate complex system models defined in SysML, simulation is usually employed. There are numerous efforts to simulate SysML models using ...
